Nîmes:
Nîmes is a relatively small city that has many well-preserved ancient roman architecture. I visited it on a day-trip by train from Montpellier.
The roman Arena is probably by far one of the most famous roman architectures in Nîmes. The day we visited, there was a Bibliography Festival inside the Arena.
Up there with the Arena, the Musee Carre--a roman temple--is another magnificent ancient monument.
Everywhere you walk, there are these quaint little streets.
We visited our first French market at Nîmes, and the variety of cheese was baffling.
And the varieties of olives, a southern specialty, was impressive too.
